Carenostics welcomes Dr. Glaser to their Advisory Board

Carenostics strengthens its Advisory Board with the appointment of healthcare technology veteran John Glaser, PhD.

Philadelphia, June 28, 2023 — Carenostics is thrilled to announce the latest addition to their advisory board, John Glaser, PhD, an esteemed leader and seasoned veteran in the healthcare technology sector.

“Dr. Glaser is widely regarded as one of the world’s most influential experts on applying healthcare information and technology to improve efficient delivery of healthcare,” said Bharat Rao, Carenostics’ Co-founder and CEO. “Through his multiple leadership roles in healthcare systems, private industry, and as a leading advisor in government, Dr. Glaser has brought vision and leadership to the application of information technology to improve quality and drive down costs in healthcare, while also addressing concerns of privacy and security. This expertise and insight will be a tremendous asset to Carenostics as we deliver innovative solutions to tackle issues in chronic disease at the point-of-care.”

Dr. Glaser is Executive-in-Residence at the Harvard Medical School and former Senior Vice President of Population Health at Cerner Corporation. Previously, he was Chief Executive Officer of Siemens Health Services and prior, Chief Information Officer at Partners HealthCare.

Dr. Glaser was the Founding Chair of the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) and former president of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS). He previously served as Board Chair of the American Telemedicine Association and a former Chair of the Global Agenda Council on Digital Health, World Economic Forum. He was also Senior Advisor to the US Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology, Federal Department of Health and Human Services.

Dr. Glaser currently serves on the boards of Carleton-Willard Village, the Scottsdale Institute, National Committee for Quality Assurance, Lumeon, Wellsheet, and Relatient. He has received numerous industry awards including the Dr. Glaser P. Glaser Innovation Award (established by the School of Biomedical Informatics, University of Texas Health Sciences Center), the William B. Stead Thought Leadership Award (American Medical Informatics Association), and the Lifetime Achievement Award (CHIME).

Dr. Glaser received his Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota. He has written over 200 articles and four books on the strategic application of IT in healthcare. He is on the faculty of the UTHealth School of Biomedical Informatics and the Harvard School of Public Health. He was previously on the faculty of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
